Course Description:
The Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 New Features for Experienced Administrators (RH354) course is a 4-day course that is designed to introduce students updates in the upcoming Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. This course is intended for experienced Linux system administrators, and offers a rapid orientation to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 based on the pre-release beta. The course prepares operators, managers, principal system administrators, and other IT professionals with experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 for deployments and migrations to the new release.
?This course is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.
Topics covered in the course include:
- Installing Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 using the new packaging, modularity, and appstream features.
- Upgrading from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 using new tools.
- Performing integrated file system and volume management using Stratis.
- Using Cockpit for system management.
- Creating system images with Composer.
- Configuring Identity Management using authselect.
- Understanding the Wayland graphical display server.
- Deploying containers using the new integrated OCI runtime and tools.
- Configuring firewall rules that use the new NFT back end.

Describe the major improvements and feature enhancements in the upcoming Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 release.
Install and upgrade to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 or upgrade an existing system from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.
Provision and manage servers
Prepare standardized systems by generating system images for deployment, managing them with remote web-based administration, and automating provisioning with Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Roles for Red Hat® Ansible Engine.
Adapt to core system changes
Manage core system components that have had significant changes in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.
Implement storage using new features
Explore the major enhancements in local and remote file system and volume management components.
Manage containers with the new runtime
Explain the new container runtime engine and tools that replace the Docker container engine.

The Developing Rule Solutions in IBM Operational Decision Manager v8.10 course is a 5-day course that is designed to introduce developers to IBM Operational Decision Manager v8.10. Students will learn the concepts and skills needed to design, develop, and integrate a business rule solution with Operational Decision Manager.
The class starts with an overview of Operational Decision Manager, which is composed of two main environments: Decision Server for technical users and Decision Center for business users. The course discusses the collaboration between development and business teams during project development.
Through instructor-led presentations and hands-on lab exercises, students wil learn about the core features of Decision Server, which is the primary working environment for developers. Students wil design decision services and work with the object models that are required to author and execute rule artifacts. Students wil build experience with deployment and execution and work extensively with Rule Execution Server. Additionally, students wil become familiar with rule authoring so that they can support business users to set up and customize the rule authoring and validation environments. Finally, students will also learn how to use Operational Decision Manager features to support decision governance.
