Course Description:
The MySQL Querying Fundamentals class teaches students the fundamentals of how to write MySQL statements and perform simple queries of a database. Students will learn the core skills needed to access and manipulate data from MySQL databases. This course covers MySQL version 8.0.
Topics covered in the course include:
- Connect to the MySQL Server database and execute a simple query.
- Include a search condition in a simple query
- Use various functions to perform calculations on data
- Organize the data obtained from a query before it is displayed on-screen
- Retrieve data from multiple tables
Target Student:
This course is designed for students with basic computer skills, familiar with concepts related to database structure and terminology, and who want to use SQL to query databases.
Prerequisites:
Some familiarity with database terminology and structure will be helpful to students in this course.
